What is a Large-Scale Doujinshi Convention?
The key to understanding this event is the term “large-scale.”
Large-scale (dà chǐ dù) is internet slang from Taiwan and Chinese-speaking regions, referring to high exposure/provocative content/adult-oriented expressions. (Equivalent to “R-18” or “sexy” content in Japan)
Therefore,
Large-scale doujinshi convention = 18+ doujin event selling adult-oriented photo books, cosplay, and creative works
is what it means.
In Japan, it’s similar to Cosholic or Comiket’s adult section.
